We ordered a bedroom set priced at over $1000 and made the required monthly payments per our contract. A final payment was made and we were told by the manager that our furniture would be ready for delivery in two weeks or less. According to American Freight’s “Terms and Conditions” it states delivery could take as much as four weeks so I wasn’t too set on getting it in two weeks or less as previously stated. We never received a single phone call from American Freight and after one month from the date we paid the furniture off I contacted American Freight and their response was, “Your furniture is on backorder and we do not have a date for when it will be here.” Two weeks later I called again (still never received a phone call from the company). They stated, “It may come in on this next truck but we don’t really know when our trucks come or what is on them.” Again, still nothing and no phone call from the company. I finally submitted a Better Business Bureau complaint and received this response from the regional manager:
the furniture is on backorder from the manufactory. we do not have a date because they are out of it. the customer can either wait on it to come in, which we dont know a date, come into the store to reselect even if they pick out something better we will work out a price, or get a refund

I then contacted American Freight again and requested to speak to the manager but was told the manager was assisting a customer. I told the woman on the phone my problem and she said to call back tomorrow when the manager would be there (after she just told me the manager was helping a customer). I called back the following day and the manager was again, helping a customer. I requested the manager call me back in reference to my furniture and I never received a phone call.
I showed up at the store that following Sunday to speak to the manager and he said he never knew I called. I told him my problem and gave him the regional manager’s solution from the BBB. His response was, “Everything was on backorder and it would be another 3 weeks before anything comes in.” Frustrated, we were about to leave and he said, “Well we do have a couple things coming in tomorrow.” We decided on a set that was coming in tomorrow just to be done dealing with the company. Delivery was scheduled the following evening between 5p and 8p. At 7:45p the delivery guys showed up, unloaded our furniture, and left. We unboxed everything to find a 4” hole in the bottom of the dresser and the mirror frame was cracked on both sides. We would have to pay two additional delivery charges to get another dresser (one to take the broken one back and another to get our replacement). We decided to cut our losses and live with the one with the hole. I was able to fit the mirror in my car and took it back to the company to get a replacement and never received one apology for everything I had to go through. They also could care less about the damaged dresser and made no mention of it after it was brought to their attention.
I suggest anyone looking for a deal to pay a little extra and go with a different company. This company has absolutely no customer service experience and only cares about money coming in the door. Their last concern is making sure the customer is happy. They will not call you if your furniture is on backorder and they will not return your phone call if you leave a message for the manager. They will though act like your best friend when you walk the sales floor to pick out a set of your liking. Please, Google search this company for reviews as this is not the only negative review this company has.
Got the run around too many times before demanding a full refund.
We ordered furniture from American Freight and had it paid off within 30 days of ordering. We waited another 30 days (as they request) for the furniture to come in.
After 30 days the furniture still had not arrived. So at the point I decided to check out their report with the BBB and was horrified. Then I stumbled upon pissedconsumer.com and read yet more negative reviews. I felt sick to my stomach!!
Everything I was ready was exactly what was happening to me too. So I called American Freight the next day to request a full refund. The assistant manager told me that my furniture would be arriving the very next day and I told him that the only thing I wanted was a full refund. So, I call the very next day and requested a refund only to be told that I would have to call the next day to speak with the manager.
So, the next day I call the manager to again request a full refund. He tells me that it will take 7-10 business days for a refund to arrive at their store and I would have to return to the store to get the refund of the amount I put on my credit card. After waiting two weeks, I call the store and no check. So, I decided I would just call the corporate office to request a refund (good thing because no refund was EVER requested!) I followed that up with a phone call the next day to the store.
The manager stated that he would have to call about my check (and I told him I would hold while he did that.) He comes back and tells me that my check is being signed as we speak and that I should receive it next day.
I am happy to say that I DID receive the check next day, but I have to travel 1 hour just to get to their store for the credit card refund. So a BIG THANK YOU to every person that has posted a negative experience...I took your word for it!
Rude Customer Service and Poor Delivery
Bought sofa on 6/11/13 Since then it has flat cushions Horrible customer service Chattanooga, tn
I purchased a sofa on 6/11/2013 at the Chattanooga, tn. location and was told that there was a 4 month in house warranty plus 1 year manufacture warranty.
After 2 months go by my cushions went flat (its the type of sofa that the cushions are made into the sofa not separate) so I called the store on Friday Sept. 27th/2013 and spoke with Natilee the asst. manager and told her the problem, she said the bring in the sofa for a replacement no questions asked, I told her that I'll bring it in the following week, she said no problem. On Wens.
Oct. 2nd/2013 I took the sofa up to the store, and I spoke with her, she remembered the conversation and said that she would be with me in a min. The next thing that I knew this man named Jack comes up to me and says "we don't replace or exchange sofas" I explained to him that I have already spoke with Natilee about this. He said "well I have to look at first and then I'll make the decision, if I replace it or not" he looked at the sofa and said "well I'm not taking it back" I asked why, he said "it's dirty, I don't know were it's been" I said excuse me, he then said "we'll it's under warranty, but I'm not taking it back" I said to him just replace it or refund my money, he refused.
I filed a claim through BBB, and after the claim went though the "owner" of the company named Susan called me up and started chewing me out because I filled a claim. And when I tried to talk or get a word in edgewise she would talk over me and then she said to me that I was being dis-respectfull to her and to her company.
As of right now no new sofa or refund has been made.

actually i saw now that delivery was $65.00
AND HE TOLD US IN BOTH ENGLISH AND SPANISH SO MY MOM COULD UNDERSTAND " HERE ARE ARE CHEAPEST SETs (just found out i had caps on sorry ppl) anyway like i was saying he said " here are our cheapest sets and blah blah blah, they are awsome and the wood is the best and this and that" so I'm excited to get a bedroom set of our own and with my little boy on the way i just had to have something nice so we place the items on lay away, and then Mr.Gavin started telling us about the 5yr plan and that it covers everything from water damage to kids drawing on our stuff and we were like "omg really even if we dropped the mirror or if it cracks when we are taking out of the box" and he said " heck yes we cover everything and anything that could possibly go wrong so we payed the $99.95 for it, the shiloh mirror $38.00, shiloh nightstand $68.00, shiloh dresser $198.00 and the shiloh chest $148.00 and with the guardian value plan was $99.95 which was a total $516.76. a few days passed and we are still making payments for it because my bf at the time was working at arbys...so we payed everything in full 2/20/13 and it was awsome till we get the news that the stuff we bought they didn't have anymore in stock...so we went all wtf on them and Mr.Gavin Gosik shows us the Thomson branch set
Tb mirror $29.00, Tb night stand $98.00, Tb chest $118.00, and the Tb dresser $138.00, which in total was $416.76... so we were excited because it was cheaper then the other one so we caved and took it how it was set. delivery was $25 bucks even though it was 10 min down the road...but what ever we got our stuff....so now it is 9/24/13 and i been having problems with my family in and out within that time gap and been moving in and out, but my furniture got wet due to the carelessness of my son's father's father and it has a little water damage...no big deal but i remember the freaking 5yr plan and I'm like omfg and grabbed my son's father and went to the place today and let me tell you somthing...it wasn't pretty..
so i walked in with the paper work and the store "manager" butt muncher ROBERT VEREB!!!! grabs the paper work and i told him bout the 5yr plan that Gavin told us about... almost before i can say anything else he asked " whats the damage?" and i told him " the dresser and the chest and the mirror" basically the whole set right? so he starts jotting down a website and the number for guardian 1(80*)527-**** and tells me " speak with them because we are just a store and don't offer replacements" and i tried to explain to him what i was told and he interrupts me and says " and like i said we cant do anything about that so call the company and see if they except what happened to the set and we need pictures and so on and so forth" and i am so so upset at this point due to his attitude so i get upset and ask my son's father to look for Gavin's name and last name in the paper work and he is unable to find it and i was upset so i said " *** this and bull *** that" to my son's father.
the guy kept saying while butting into our conversation " its there, its there, its there" about 10 times and i turned around and snapped at him and said " i am not speaking to you, i am speaking to him" and ROBERT vereb snaps back " you are using profanity and it is my business and i can say what ever i please and we can talk like adults or we can take it outside" and i looked at him and was thinking about taking it outside and throwing a few punches because i am an ex boxer and i know i can take him down but i looked over to my son and looked at him and said " then get off your dam high horse and hear me the *** out sir" and he said " whatever" and i try again explaining to him and the other *** next to him again and he gave me the same ***, so i broke down and walked out....then walked back in to get the higher bosses number and any other number there could be to fix my problem myself. and he was still on his freaking high horse and asked for the explanation again and again i explain and they scoff and give me the same ***...so right now i am pissed cuz i payed that 5yr plan *** for no reason due to false advertisement on Gavin's behalf and that *** for brains ROBBERT VEREB who wanted to fight a 20yr old female aka ME!!!! and so i will call the dam place and see....
BUT DAM...this place is *** and everyone in it as well so spread the word THIS PLACE SUCKS AND SUCKS YOU DRY ON MONEY!!!!!!!

My queen size mattress by the same manufacturer sold by American Freight indented on the right-side, and because I am disabled, I don't have the physical strengh take it back to store and hopefully get a replacement. People shouldn't be sold a bad product!
