American Freight Furniture - Manager Review

I purchased a king size bed from them on 5/28/14 and paid for it in full. They were aware that I would be moving into my new home on 6/13/14. After seeing the inside of my new home I had to change the size of the bed to a queen on 5/30/14. When I contacted the about picking up my bed I was told that it had to be ordered. The salesperson informed me that once the bed arrived he would make sure it was delivered. The bed finally arrived on 6/26/14 but they never called. When I asked if they would be delivering it today I was told by the manager on duty that I had to come and pick it up. I explained that my salesperson informed me that he would have it delivered. I was told that I would have to wait until my salesperson returned to work on 6/27/14, i explained that i had been sleeping on the floor waiting for my bed to arrive. Manager on duty told me that there was nothing in which she could do because the salesperson left no notes about having the bed delivered to my home.

American Freight Furniture - Furniture Set Review from Bellevue, Washington

Purchased a mattress set from American Freight. Mattress sinks in the middle. Advised by the manager to put a broom stick....yes, a broom stick over the indent with a measurement of 2 and one half inches and they will submit it to corporate to determine if it can be replaced. Well I will load up that mattress and take it back to the store where it was purchased and cause a scene if they don't replace it with a new reliable mattress. Ripoffs!

My queen size mattress by the same manufacturer sold by American Freight indented on the right-side, and because I am disabled, I don't have the physical strengh take it back to store and hopefully get a replacement. People shouldn't be sold a bad product!

American Freight Furniture - Furniture Set Review from Auburn, New York

I purchased a leather furniture set in February. Apon delivery I noticed it wasn't the same style I had picked out on the show room, & one end cushion was complety flat. I immediately called the store and was told the style I sat on, liked and was under the assumption that I was getting...was no longer available and had been replaced with the one that was delivered. Then I was asked to email a picture of the sunken cushion, and told that I wod hear back from them in a day or so. I know I should have followed up in a day or so, and it's been 3 mos now, with still no resolution, but on the flip side...if you have a dissatissfied customer, shouldn't they be a PRIORITY? Maybe I shouldn't have called them back. They should have returned my call upon receipt of the email. POOR BUSINESS SAVVY. Never again will I purchase so much as a lamp from this company.

American Freight is in the process of ripping off a friend.

In march of this year Portia Hayes paid eight hundred plus dollars for some living room furniture at the Marietta Georgia location but did not pick it up and left it there for three months because of a bout with illness. Even though Ms. Hayes kept in contact with the company and explained that she misplaced the receipt the company now claims that Ms. Hayes only paid a dollar toward the furniture. We are in the process of taking legal action. American Freight needs to do the right thing and release Ms. Hayes's furniture. This is bad business and moral practice and if the company does not correct it then the law will. I hope everyone will see and know what is going on. I don't see why one has to type a hundred words. This is over kill. If this is not submitted I will still get the message out. As long as one airs their complaint why should it take so many words?

King Matress sags

We purchased a king Matress set approximately two years ago and within the first year it started sagging on both sides. We have rotated the matress from the start approximately every 90 days. We want the top matress replaced at no further charges to us. This matress is very poor quality for the so called bargin price. We purchased this mattress believing it would be quality for the price that we paid. Stewart and Hamilton claims to have luxury sleep mattresses but that is not what we have found with this mattress. If our mattress is not replace I will take out ads and I will protest the location where we purchased this mattress and caution potential victims not to invest in any thing from American freight furniture and especially Stewart & Hamilton mattresses.

Overpricing Review

We went to American Freight in Norcross Ga. This place is a joke. The website has one price, but when you arrive the prices are doubled. Then the sales associate can't and won't do anything about it but walk away while you are still trying to discuss the issue.

We ordered a bedroom set priced at over $1000 and made the required monthly payments per our contract. A final payment was made and we were told by the manager that our furniture would be ready for delivery in two weeks or less. According to American Freight’s “Terms and Conditions” it states delivery could take as much as four weeks so I wasn’t too set on getting it in two weeks or less as previously stated. We never received a single phone call from American Freight and after one month from the date we paid the furniture off I contacted American Freight and their response was, “Your furniture is on backorder and we do not have a date for when it will be here.” Two weeks later I called again (still never received a phone call from the company). They stated, “It may come in on this next truck but we don’t really know when our trucks come or what is on them.” Again, still nothing and no phone call from the company. I finally submitted a Better Business Bureau complaint and received this response from the regional manager:

the furniture is on backorder from the manufactory. we do not have a date because they are out of it. the customer can either wait on it to come in, which we dont know a date, come into the store to reselect even if they pick out something better we will work out a price, or get a refund

I then contacted American Freight again and requested to speak to the manager but was told the manager was assisting a customer. I told the woman on the phone my problem and she said to call back tomorrow when the manager would be there (after she just told me the manager was helping a customer). I called back the following day and the manager was again, helping a customer. I requested the manager call me back in reference to my furniture and I never received a phone call.

I showed up at the store that following Sunday to speak to the manager and he said he never knew I called. I told him my problem and gave him the regional manager’s solution from the BBB. His response was, “Everything was on backorder and it would be another 3 weeks before anything comes in.” Frustrated, we were about to leave and he said, “Well we do have a couple things coming in tomorrow.” We decided on a set that was coming in tomorrow just to be done dealing with the company. Delivery was scheduled the following evening between 5p and 8p. At 7:45p the delivery guys showed up, unloaded our furniture, and left. We unboxed everything to find a 4” hole in the bottom of the dresser and the mirror frame was cracked on both sides. We would have to pay two additional delivery charges to get another dresser (one to take the broken one back and another to get our replacement). We decided to cut our losses and live with the one with the hole. I was able to fit the mirror in my car and took it back to the company to get a replacement and never received one apology for everything I had to go through. They also could care less about the damaged dresser and made no mention of it after it was brought to their attention.

I suggest anyone looking for a deal to pay a little extra and go with a different company. This company has absolutely no customer service experience and only cares about money coming in the door. Their last concern is making sure the customer is happy. They will not call you if your furniture is on backorder and they will not return your phone call if you leave a message for the manager. They will though act like your best friend when you walk the sales floor to pick out a set of your liking. Please, Google search this company for reviews as this is not the only negative review this company has.

Got the run around too many times before demanding a full refund.

We ordered furniture from American Freight and had it paid off within 30 days of ordering. We waited another 30 days (as they request) for the furniture to come in.

After 30 days the furniture still had not arrived. So at the point I decided to check out their report with the BBB and was horrified. Then I stumbled upon pissedconsumer.com and read yet more negative reviews. I felt sick to my stomach!!

Everything I was ready was exactly what was happening to me too. So I called American Freight the next day to request a full refund. The assistant manager told me that my furniture would be arriving the very next day and I told him that the only thing I wanted was a full refund. So, I call the very next day and requested a refund only to be told that I would have to call the next day to speak with the manager.

So, the next day I call the manager to again request a full refund. He tells me that it will take 7-10 business days for a refund to arrive at their store and I would have to return to the store to get the refund of the amount I put on my credit card. After waiting two weeks, I call the store and no check. So, I decided I would just call the corporate office to request a refund (good thing because no refund was EVER requested!) I followed that up with a phone call the next day to the store.

The manager stated that he would have to call about my check (and I told him I would hold while he did that.) He comes back and tells me that my check is being signed as we speak and that I should receive it next day.

I am happy to say that I DID receive the check next day, but I have to travel 1 hour just to get to their store for the credit card refund. So a BIG THANK YOU to every person that has posted a negative experience...I took your word for it!

I went to American Freight in Montgomery Ala and paid for a living room suit and had to wait 3 weeks plus it don't make no since to pay for furniture and have to way so long to get it but they got your money and talk trash to you when you call to check and see if your furniture in yet they need to get better than this.

Rude Customer Service and Poor Delivery

Salesman Joseph was real bossy and rude like someone was wasting his time at time of purchase. Same day delivery was not delivered until 11:30 pm that night. Called store to ask with there was a problem with the delivery before store closing hours and sales man and me got into a yelling match over phone when asked with he could contact the driver. I don't care how much I need furniture I will not use this location may even this company be very care full using them, asking questions about delivery and hours. And don't ask Joseph to do his job

Bought sofa on 6/11/13 Since then it has flat cushions Horrible customer service Chattanooga, tn

I purchased a sofa on 6/11/2013 at the Chattanooga, tn. location and was told that there was a 4 month in house warranty plus 1 year manufacture warranty.

After 2 months go by my cushions went flat (its the type of sofa that the cushions are made into the sofa not separate) so I called the store on Friday Sept. 27th/2013 and spoke with Natilee the asst. manager and told her the problem, she said the bring in the sofa for a replacement no questions asked, I told her that I'll bring it in the following week, she said no problem. On Wens.

Oct. 2nd/2013 I took the sofa up to the store, and I spoke with her, she remembered the conversation and said that she would be with me in a min. The next thing that I knew this man named Jack comes up to me and says "we don't replace or exchange sofas" I explained to him that I have already spoke with Natilee about this. He said "well I have to look at first and then I'll make the decision, if I replace it or not" he looked at the sofa and said "well I'm not taking it back" I asked why, he said "it's dirty, I don't know were it's been" I said excuse me, he then said "we'll it's under warranty, but I'm not taking it back" I said to him just replace it or refund my money, he refused.

I filed a claim through BBB, and after the claim went though the "owner" of the company named Susan called me up and started chewing me out because I filled a claim. And when I tried to talk or get a word in edgewise she would talk over me and then she said to me that I was being dis-respectfull to her and to her company.

As of right now no new sofa or refund has been made.

I was about 5 TO 6 MONTHS PREGNANT AND I NOTICED ALL THE ADS ABOUT AMERICAN FREIGHT SO I CONVINCED MY SON'S FATHER TO GO AND BUY A NEW SET SO WE CAN BRING HOME A NEW BABY TO A NEW BEDROOM SET AND I WAS 19 AT THE TIME AS WELL, IT WAS 1/27/2013 WHEN WE STARTED MAKING OUR PAYMENTS, SO WHEN I FIRST ARRIVED AT THE PLACE LOCATED AT 2240 COMMERCE POINT DR LAKELAND FL 33801 ABOUT 10 MIN DOWN THE ROAD FROM ME, I WAS GREETED BY A SHORT TUBBY YET HANDSOME MR. GAVIN, AND HE SHOWED MY MOTHER, MY BOYFRIEND, AND ME THE BEDROOM SETS AT THE FAR END OF THE WAREHOUSE.

AND HE TOLD US IN BOTH ENGLISH AND SPANISH SO MY MOM COULD UNDERSTAND " HERE ARE ARE CHEAPEST SETs (just found out i had caps on sorry ppl) anyway like i was saying he said " here are our cheapest sets and blah blah blah, they are awsome and the wood is the best and this and that" so I'm excited to get a bedroom set of our own and with my little boy on the way i just had to have something nice so we place the items on lay away, and then Mr.Gavin started telling us about the 5yr plan and that it covers everything from water damage to kids drawing on our stuff and we were like "omg really even if we dropped the mirror or if it cracks when we are taking out of the box" and he said " heck yes we cover everything and anything that could possibly go wrong so we payed the $99.95 for it, the shiloh mirror $38.00, shiloh nightstand $68.00, shiloh dresser $198.00 and the shiloh chest $148.00 and with the guardian value plan was $99.95 which was a total $516.76. a few days passed and we are still making payments for it because my bf at the time was working at arbys...so we payed everything in full 2/20/13 and it was awsome till we get the news that the stuff we bought they didn't have anymore in stock...so we went all wtf on them and Mr.Gavin Gosik shows us the Thomson branch set
Tb mirror $29.00, Tb night stand $98.00, Tb chest $118.00, and the Tb dresser $138.00, which in total was $416.76... so we were excited because it was cheaper then the other one so we caved and took it how it was set. delivery was $25 bucks even though it was 10 min down the road...but what ever we got our stuff....so now it is 9/24/13 and i been having problems with my family in and out within that time gap and been moving in and out, but my furniture got wet due to the carelessness of my son's father's father and it has a little water damage...no big deal but i remember the freaking 5yr plan and I'm like omfg and grabbed my son's father and went to the place today and let me tell you somthing...it wasn't pretty..

so i walked in with the paper work and the store "manager" butt muncher ROBERT VEREB!!!! grabs the paper work and i told him bout the 5yr plan that Gavin told us about... almost before i can say anything else he asked " whats the damage?" and i told him " the dresser and the chest and the mirror" basically the whole set right? so he starts jotting down a website and the number for guardian 1(80*)527-**** and tells me " speak with them because we are just a store and don't offer replacements" and i tried to explain to him what i was told and he interrupts me and says " and like i said we cant do anything about that so call the company and see if they except what happened to the set and we need pictures and so on and so forth" and i am so so upset at this point due to his attitude so i get upset and ask my son's father to look for Gavin's name and last name in the paper work and he is unable to find it and i was upset so i said " *** this and bull *** that" to my son's father.

the guy kept saying while butting into our conversation " its there, its there, its there" about 10 times and i turned around and snapped at him and said " i am not speaking to you, i am speaking to him" and ROBERT vereb snaps back " you are using profanity and it is my business and i can say what ever i please and we can talk like adults or we can take it outside" and i looked at him and was thinking about taking it outside and throwing a few punches because i am an ex boxer and i know i can take him down but i looked over to my son and looked at him and said " then get off your dam high horse and hear me the *** out sir" and he said " whatever" and i try again explaining to him and the other *** next to him again and he gave me the same ***, so i broke down and walked out....then walked back in to get the higher bosses number and any other number there could be to fix my problem myself. and he was still on his freaking high horse and asked for the explanation again and again i explain and they scoff and give me the same ***...so right now i am pissed cuz i payed that 5yr plan *** for no reason due to false advertisement on Gavin's behalf and that *** for brains ROBBERT VEREB who wanted to fight a 20yr old female aka ME!!!! and so i will call the dam place and see....

BUT DAM...this place is *** and everyone in it as well so spread the word THIS PLACE SUCKS AND SUCKS YOU DRY ON MONEY!!!!!!!

Bundle offer is Unacceptable -employee was unhelpful

First, the "bundle offer" is a catch. The quality of the "bundle furniture" is very poor quality. We tried to ask for some discount if you up graded and the *** employee stated: "this is not a garage sale." Finally, he told us that with the upgrade will be $2,000.00. Basically, you go in there for a bundle of $998.00 that it is horrible furniture, and it is not even closed at the ad presented in the Internet. Well, we went to other place and we bought new furniture for less and the quality was much much better. :) happy no doing business with you at all.

the only *** in this comment to me seems to be you poster. the employee was right it is NOT a garage sale so that means they're not in the haggling business the price is what the price is. some businesses do allow wiggle room with pricing but others do not. I understand youre feeling that the "horrible" furniture of $998 isn't the advertised on the internet as you say. but just FYI if you read the ads and their fine print they will usually say "not all stores carry this in stock. etc etc" or something to that effect. that unfortunately is a retail ploy toget you into the store to buy something that might be similar but more expensive then what you saw online.

also I think you meant to say that "and it is not even CLOSE to what the ad presented ON the internet"

also while we're on the subject why complain on this board anyways? do you think anyone that even remotely matters at that company will read your comment and be affected especially by the "happy no doing business with you at all" part at the end?

AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! AWFUL COMPANY

As a new resident of Boardman, Ohio, I decided to give AFF a shot for my bedroom outfit and living room furniture.. mistake number one. On March 27th, I ordered the items I wanted. I wasn't moving out to the area for another month, so that gave the store plenty of time to order the pieces needed. I paid in full for the order on April 23rd. When I requested that the items be delivered, I was told that the recliner was not available right then. The bedroom furniture and the couch were delivered. Upon unwrapping the bedroom furniture from the cardboard, I noticed that my big chest was completely cracked down both sides. I immediately called the store, and they assured me that the piece would be replaced. It is now 2 and 1/2 months later, and I still do not have the replacement chest. Today, on July 3rd, the recliner was finally delivered. THE ORDERED ME THE WRONG ONE. So after waiting for over 2 months, they finally show up with the wrong color recliner, and still no replacement chest. After finally giving up on this company, I demanded a refund for the recliner and the bedroom set since they clearly cannot find me a replacement for the broken chest, and they have no idea how long it will take to get the recliner in the correct color. They refuse to refund my money for the bedroom set because i have been waiting for two months for the replacement chest, and will now not take the rest of the pieces due to it being in my house for so long. Had I known that the replacement chest STILL wouldn't be available two months later, I would have told them to take their entire set back right away. Now I am being punished for being patient and waiting for them to replace the set. The only option that they will give me is to pick out a replacement set for the bedroom (which I want nothing to do with). Despite being patient for over TWO MONTHS they refuse to give me my money back. NEVER AGAIN will I ever walk into one of these stores, and I will be sure to tell every single person that asks about my furniture not to go there. I have never dealt with a company so awful with customer service. How can a company force me to pick out a bedroom set that I want nothing to do with instead of just giving me my money back. Absolutely ridiculous. Avoid American Freight Furniture at ALL costs. It is not worth your hassle.

Bad customer service and poor delivery service. I purchased a bedroom set from AFF the Antioch Tn location.The workers at this location display horrible customer relation skills.I purchased my bedroom set and paid cash upfront and was guaranteed same day delivery between 6 & 7 pm that night. I called to follow up with my delivery at 6:30pm and was told by the associate that they were running behind and havent left the store yet.At 9:30pm that night I received a call from the delivery people saying they were on their way, they never showed I advice anyone to stay away from this rippoff place.

First of all, as a consumer, why the *** would you wait for 2 months in the first place for a piece of furniture to complete a set and a recliner that was obviously on back order?

I would have called them after the first 2 weeks of not having my complete set and recliner and said replace what I'm missing or give me a whole different set.

Secondly, they order their furniture from MANUFACTURERS just like anyone else. So how are you going to get mad at them for not RECEIVING your furniture until the MANUFACTURER sends it to them?

Third, you waited for over 2 months to tell them to come and get the furniture, and was even bold enough to demand a refund. Who the *** do you think you are? If you were unhappy with what happened to you in your situation, learn to handle the situation. Don't go bad mouthing anyone because of your inability to be smart enough to think to yourself "hey, it's been 2 weeks and I still don't have my stuff....maybe I should call these people". I'll tell you what, next time you go to a furniture store to pay for something, spend extra money to pick it up yourself.
